SUPERHERO Barrow kids raised awareness and money for breast cancer at a nursery last week.
The children at Happy Tots Nursery, in Abbey Road, dressed up in pink and in silky “superhero” capes to tackle the task of raising money for Breast Cancer Care and the Breast Cancer campaign.
Throughout last week, the Barrow nursery saw around 90 kids a day bring in pink cakes and buns to help raise funds.
The children who took part in the event ranged in age from six months to 11 years-old.
Ashley Carswell, senior nursery nurse, said: “One of our workers actually made the capes for the children to wear.”
The 26-year-old said that all the donations are yet to be counted, though the week had been very successful.
Ms Carswell said that the whole week was exciting and fun for the children. “They love the role play and playing super heroes,”she said.
The Dalton resident added that parents also helped out to support the pink-themed super hero week.
She said: “The parents have been donating and buying the cakes and badges for the kids. All the children have loved it.”
