Snow warning for Cumbria

THE MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the North West.

Weather forecasters are warning Cumbrians to be prepared for snow on Monday evening.

The Met Office has warned that snow could fall in higher areas late Monday into the early hours of Tuesday.

Temperatures are set to dip as low as one degree in some parts of the county.

Have your say

I dont think you should be having a go at Jan, she does have a point and wasnt blaming your fella 'soapbox'. We seem to be the only Country that come to a stand still with a few centimeters of snow, its shocking! When you rely on your car and the public transport in your area is almost non existent why should you leave your car at home and then get stranded away from home because non of the roads have been cleared! I live in Millom and through the bad frost last month there was no sign of a gritter around that end, the roads were a death trap! But I suppose our side of the estuary doesnt matter hey! Think about what your saying before you start having a go!

Credit where credit is due the gritters were out every night on Walney when we had the hard frosts recently granted I didnt see them the day we had the snow last week but i may have just missed them and anyway the snow hardly lasted it was gone in less than 24hrs.I signed up to the Cumbria's snow champions scheme where I agree to clear snow (should we get any that needs clearing) last week a very nice gentleman delivered to me a plastic snow shovel,A Hi Vis waistcoat, shoe grips and a tub of grit which I shall use in my local vicinity should the need arise TIME for ACTION not Moaning for those of us that are able bodied and Im not exactly in my first flush of youth
