A FURNESS man who is a runner on The X Factor is backing Jahmene Douglas to win the show.
James Farrow, of Dalton, worked on The X Factor during the audition and boot camp stages, and he is now a runner on Britain’s Got Talent which started its auditions in the autumn.
The 20-year-old got his break working on the shows after being chosen as an X Factor Superfan last year. He went on to meet and interview X Factor contestants and judges for live streams on the website.
The ex-Ulverston Victoria High School student was at the show for last weekend’s semi-finals and he has been given tickets for the final of the singing competition on Sunday.
He said: “I’m very excited about the final, and this time I’m taking some friends with me.
“I think Jahmene should win and I think he will win. He has the best voice on the show.
“I met him at the first audition and he is the nicest guy.
“I think James (Arthur) will be second. I think he is brilliant and will do well no matter what the result is.”
Mr Farrow said he was surprised Christopher Maloney made it to the final.
His favourite was Union J who was voted out of the competition last week.
Mr Farrow said working on X Factor “was so much fun, and amazing”.
He said one of his highlights was when X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary tapped him on the shoulder and said: “James, you’re back.”
Mr Farrow said: “It was so nice that he remembered me and my name.
“He is a complete role model.”
Mr Farrow’s ultimate dream is to be a TV presenter, but he said: “I want to work in this industry in TV production. I enjoy working behind the scenes.”
Mr Farrow is looking forward to continuing his role with Britain’s Got Talent in the new year.
