Shaun the Sheep inspires Barrow kids’ activities
Published at 16:00, Monday, 18 February 2013
YOUNGSTERS spent a fun afternoon hearing about the exploits of one of the most endearing characters on children’s television.
A Shaun the Sheep activity session was held at Barrow Library on Wednesday, for children aged four to 11 and their families.
The event was a special half term activity, led by apprentice librarian, Fern Henderson.
Those who attended were treated to a series of stories and rhymes about the lovable wooly creature.
Youngsters were also give the chance to follow in the creative footsteps of well-known modeller Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, by making their own figures of the ovine hero.
Since first appearing in the Wallace and Gromit film, A Close Shave, Shaun the Sheep has become a popular children’s character in his own right.
Having been given a dedicated TV show, the family favourite has been appearing on CBBC since March 2007.
