Parents Clare, 43, and Bob, 50, of Middlesbrough, have been searching for their son every day since he went missing in March

The 20-year-old student had been visiting Windermere with some friends when they became separated during the course of the evening.

Mrs Jordan said: “Some local people contacted us this week and told us about the Facebook group and that they were going to be searching for Matthew.

“We just want him back. We’re appealing for people who have seen him to come forward.

“We just want to find him and bring him home.”

Matthew has been missing and not seen since the early hours of March 27 when he tried to get a room for a night at a fully booked hotel.

More than 1,000 people have turned up to look for him over the past week and a Facebook page set up by a search party organiser has more than 4,000 members.

Matthew has been described as 6ft tall, of medium build, with dark brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a navy long-sleeved shirt, jeans and grey pull-up boots.

Anyone with any information can call Windermere police on 101 or Missing People in confidence on 116 000.
