Safety fears over plan to axe Barrow dog role

THE public will be at greater risk from dog attacks if Barrow Borough Council goes ahead with plans to axe its dog warden, according to the man who faces losing his job.

Have your say

So the dog warden is facing the axe but the man who goes around with a blower which scatters all the recently cut dandelions and daisies all over my drive and the pavements keeps his job........lunacy.

This being the same council that is blowing a fortune on fixing up private housing for a couple of hundred residents? Yet they can't find the money to employ the one and only dog warden in the borough? I thought it was only the government that didn't have a clue!

Without the dog warden service we will be overrun with stray and abandoned animals.

I've had 2 dogs from the kennels a staffie and a staffie x both dogs r beautifully and well behaved.my second dog my brindle staff ad been found in a bad way he had been mistreated and it took some time for him to trust again.i truly believe if they hadn't been found by bill an experienced dog warden Who respects is dogs, and knows what he's talking about then they probly wouldn't be sat cuddle up with me right now.being a dog warden isn't just a job for anybody,it's a job for somebody who as a love and respect for the dogs somebody who as the publics and the dogs best interest at hart,BIll Burrows.
