Rude awakening as elite units smash their way into Barrow homes

THREE homes had a very unpleasant start to the week when police smashed through their doors in a series of morning raids.
Residents at the house and two flats in Ormsgill, Barrow, had a rude awakening when they were raided by members of the police’s Tactical Support Group, dog handlers and officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit yesterday morning.
More than 20 officers were involved in the operation that hit properties in Low White Close, Middle White Close and High White Close shortly after 9am.
A specially trained drugs dog and officers searched the properties and two people were arrested. However, no drugs were recovered in the operation.
Detective Inspector Rob O’Connor, of Barrow CID, said 46-year-old Michelle Pearson, of High White Close, had been arrested for failing to appear in court in relation to two shoplifting charges. She appeared at Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was ordered to pay a total of £187 in compensation and costs. She was also given a 12 month conditional discharge.
A 30-year-old man was also arrested in relation to a theft.
DI O’Connor said: “It has certainly been a success for us. We are quite happy with how things went and it sends out the right message.”
He said it was important for the public to report suspicious activity.
Police dropped leaflets around the area reminding people to get in touch if they thought crimes were being committed in their area.

There are good and bad everywhere, I for one never ever judge anyone by looks or where they live. If anyone knows the baddies then stay clear isnt it.
