RADIO star Chris Evans has been telling the nation about his love of a South Lakes village.
The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host has been applauding Cartmel in the week which the village’s L’Enclume has been voted Britain’s best restaurant.
He has been making very clear he is a huge fan of the medieval village by calling it a ‘thimble full of diamonds’, and raved about its numerous businesses and their produce, in particular the Cartmel Village Shop and their famous Sticky Toffee Pudding and hot pork pies.
The hot topic continued today as a hamper full of Sticky Toffee Pudding, pork pies and toffee sauce was delivered
to the team live on air.
Jean Johns, owner of Cartmel Village Shop said: “We had people coming in to the shop saying they had been listening to the radio and can they try one of our hot pork pies. It’s wonderful to hear Chris champion Cartmel and all its great businesses and produce. We’ve sent him a hamper full of Cartmel goodies but we’ll always make sure there’s a hot pork pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding ready for him when he next decides to visit.”
