Police investigate Cumbria sudden death

POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding an unexplained death in Cumbria.

Officers were called to a property at Crossways in Carlisle at 4.55pm yesterday, in relation to a sudden death.

A man’s body was discovered who has since been identified as Lee Phillipson, aged 30, from Borland Avenue, Carlisle. His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

His family have been informed and police have updated the coroner.

A 31-year-old man from Carlisle has been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, and is currently in custody helping police with enquiries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has any information to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and ask to speak to the Carlisle duty sergeant or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
