Police investigate after safe snatched from Cumbria butchers

POLICE are investigating after a safe containing £1,000 and sales ledgers dating back to 1945 was stolen from a Grange butchers.

Proctor’s Butchers, Kents Bank Road, was burgled after offenders forced open a side window and snatched the heavy duty safe.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have heard anything during the night, or who may have seen any suspicious vehicles in the area to contact DC Kelly Hayton in Kendal CID on 101 or via Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Officers are also appealing to local businesses to be vigilant and consider security in their premises to avoid falling victim to crime.
