POLICE have closed a section of Barrow pavement after part of a bar’s roof came crashing down overnight.
Officers received a report at 7.34am that some of the masonry atop Yates’s, in Duke Street, had fallen off.
Police say they placed the cordon round the building amid concerns more debris could fall down.
A spokeswoman added that the matter has now been passed on to the council to deal with.

The article is misleading. The large piece of decorative concrete weighing several hundred pounds came crashing down just before 9pm yesterday evening (Wed 13th). There where lots of people around at that time. It's lucky that no-one was killed. It has made a huge dent in the pavement, shattered pieces were thrown all over.
