Much-loved pets are in need of a new home

BELLA and Bianca were two much-loved pets who now need a new home after their owner had to move to look after an elderly housebound relative.

Unfortunately, their owner could not take them to her new home and the two lovely black cats are now being looked after by the RSPCA.

Bianca is a seven-year-old black female, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. She is a little shy in the cattery, but her carers said that when she is taken out of that environment she becomes a very loving cat who enjoys lots of cuddles and attention.

Bella is a six-year-old black female, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. She is the more outgoing of the two girls, more than happy to push herself to the front to make sure she gets a cuddle and some attention.

While both cats used to live together and it would be lovely if someone could take them both on, the RSPCA understands that this may not be possible. They do feel that both Bella and Bianca would thrive separately if they were shown lots of love.

For further details or to arrange to visit the cats, please call the Furness and Barrow RSPCA centre on 01229 824583 or drop into their offices in Church Street, Barrow.

The centre is open from 10am to noon, Monday to Friday. People can also arrange to visit the cattery by ringing 01229 827681.

Of the three cats in last week’s pets column being cared for by Animal Welfare, Trigger the tabby is in a new home and will stay if he gets on with the other cats in the house.

Young black Hetty is still in the charity’s shelter and Bravo is as well. Animal Welfare manager Elaine Montaghami said that Bravo is really coming round now after being very timid and he is turning out to be a lovely, friendly boy.

To visit the cats or for more details, please ring the charity on 01229 836955.
