VALIANT efforts to get Waterloo House GP surgery in Millom cleaned up following the floods have ensured doctors can see their patients this morning.

Dr Richard Walker last night tweeted that Millom Community Hospital should be open for appointments this morning (Monday October 2), after a visit from an electrician.

He wrote: "Flood update Millom Surgery: Rooms drying out , power is on ! Should be open for appointments Monday , wellies not required 😀. Thanks all."

On Saturday, Dr Walker had posted pictures of the Waterloo House team working hard to clean the building.

Some water had invaded the building during torrential rainfall on Saturday, which led to flooding in around 200 to 300 homes in Millom and the surrounding areas.
