The club is now busily preparing for his visit and are aiming to raise £1700 in the coming weeks to buy a pommel horse so he can demonstrate his medal-winning skills.

Mr Whitlock will visit the gymnastics club at the Recreation Centre on Sunday November 6 and is excited to see what the aspiring gymnasts of Millom have to offer.

He said: "I knew Beth Tweddle had visited Millom a few times and has always spoken really highly of the gymnasts there so I'm very much looking forward to coming up and meeting everyone and seeing what they can do."
