A VITAL community asset has undergone a vibrant transformation.
Bootle Post Office has just enjoyed a facelift to help provide up-to-date services to its customers.
Jane Scott, who runs the Post Office and store alongside her husband David, thinks it has made a big difference.
She said: “We’ve had the pin pad lowered for disabled customers and the new intercom system for those who are hard of hearing.
"There seems to be so much more space and we've had really good feedback from our customers.
“It’s just seems a lot bigger and brighter.”
Determined to make a difference to the daily life of the village, Mrs Scott believes customer service is key.
She said: “It’s the basis of running a business in a small village like this.

"We've been here for a long time and it really is the basis of what we do."
One customer, Vera Gowan, has been a regular at the store for 30 years and says it is a lifeline for people like her.
She said: “It’s handy for one thing and they’re so nice in there and so helpful. It’s always been smashing - I can’t find any fault in them at all.
“It means I don’t have to trail into Millom because I can get what I want there and if there’s anything I need they will bring it to me.
“It’s been a lifeline to people like me.”
