POLICE are appealing for information as they investigate an allegation of building work fraud and theft in Haverigg.
Cumbria Police said it received a report that almost £5,000 was paid to a builder to carry out work on a house in Haverigg and the work was said to have not been completed.
Police said a 34-year-old man from the Slough area has been arrested on suspicion of the offences. The man has been released under investigation.
Police are now appealing for residents in the Millom and Haverigg area to come forward if they have had landscape or building work carried out during August or September which they believe was not completed or finished as expected.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC 1837 Scott, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
