PHOTOS show the struggles many motorists face when travelling along the much-criticised A595.

Frustrated motorists took to Facebook to complain about the ongoing problems on the road.

Drivers reported seeing three coaches and a low loader attempting to navigate the notoriously tight road, causing delays of over ten minutes for many motorists.

Copeland MP Trudy Harrison said: "Frustration Kills. In the short term we need safer passing places and more of them on the A595.

"In the long-term we need a road that is fit for purpose, this is something I continue to reinforce and relay to Ministers and I am pleased that the Secretary of State for Transport is committed to implementing real improvements."

In June, Barrow and Furness MP John Woodcock accused transport secretary Chris Grayling of "snubbing" Cumbrian roads with his pledge for road improvements.

In response, Mr Grayling claimed the road remained "top of his roads priority list."

Mr Woodcock said: "These scenes on the A595 will sadly be all too familiar to road users in Furness who are rightly fed up of the constant delays and congestion.

"The transport secretary promised us extra funding to sort these bottlenecks out and I am working hard to try to hold him to his word, including by re-forming the Cumbria Better Connected campaign which holds its first meeting later this month."
