TODAY has been the perfect weather for ice-lollies and ice-creams as South Cumbria basked in glorious sunshine.
The thermometer reached 23°C in parts of Barrow, Ulverston and Millom this afternoon as the weather gave parents something to smile about during the summer holidays.
Families flocked to local attractions, parks and beaches to make the most of the outdoors.
Carlisle was even among the 20 hottest places in the country, recording a maximum temperature of 24.1°C.
Tomorrow is set to be more of the same, with temperatures due to peak at around 22°C locally.
However, forecasts suggest the sunny spell won't last long, with rain and showers expected for the weekend.
