DRIVERS are being warned to approach a stretch of the A595 slowly and with care after slippery conditions caused chaos for motorists this evening.
Facebook users posted on the group called "Around the Combe" to let people know about the icy conditions on the stretch of road known as Buckman Brow.
One Facebook user noted that "cars were sliding everywhere" as "hailstones came down thick and fast."
Police confirmed that at approximately 9pm, a gritter was dispatched to the area to give drivers some more grip on the slippery roads.
One car that got stuck on the road had to be pushed up the hill by five rugby players who were driving home from training.
