A FESTIVE pub crawl helped to raise more than £400 towards an annual winter wonderland event.

At least 15 people donned fancy dress last Saturday night in Millom and meandered through the town's pubs to help raise money for the Christmas extravaganza.

Every year Russell Townsend and Gina Hine from The Bridge Cafe organise a magical Yuletide treat to ensure every child in Millom gets to meet Father Christmas.

With Mr Townsend funding the December extravaganza out of his own pocket, Karyn Sharpe was keen to help him out with the costs and was delighted that so many people came to enjoy the pub crawl.

She said: "Everybody knows Russell - he is the heart of the town. Russell is always the first person to give something so it's nice to give something back and help him out this year."
