Work has nearly finished on the restoration of the town centre clock in Millom.
The restoration is due to finish within the next week, and the people of the town will finally have their landmark timepiece back in working order and looking new after years of neglect.
Yesterday time stopped as the hands were removed as part of the work.
Ged McGrath, chairman of the Millom Clock Trust, is delighted that work has nearly finished.
He said: "The whole town is excited and will be even more so when it is finished."
At the beginning of the year campaigners celebrated after being able to secure more than £13,000 to restore the clock to its former glory.
