A BUS driver from Millom has been banned from getting behind the wheel after he was caught drink driving.

Daniel Evans, of Holborn Hill, pleaded guilty to drink driving and was sentenced at Gateshead Magistrates' Court last week.

The 22-year-old was picked up by the police shortly before 1am on Sunday January 17 and taken to the local police station where he gave two breath samples which tested positive.

Evans, who was employed by Millom transport company Hodgson's Coaches at the time, has been disqualified from holding a licence for 16 months. He also received a £270 fine and was ordered to pay  £100 costs.

The travel company refused to comment on the case when approached by the Evening Mail.
