A SELFLESS 15-year-old has chopped off her long locks in the name of charity.

Georgia Chloe Whitehall from Millom had been growing her hair for the last four years and had a total of 12 inches cut off on Monday October 3.

The Millom schoolgirl's locks will be donated to the Little Princess Trust who collect hair in order to make wigs for children suffering from cancer and other illnesses.

Hairdresser Nicole Slater of Hair Boutique in Millom was entrusted to make the cut and also donated the cost of the haircut to the charity.

Mum, Heather Hill said: "It was a very brave thing for her to do.

"We are all really proud of her to do this selfless thing for charity."

The Princess Trust have seen a surge of donations over the past few years and notable donors include One Direction's Harry Styles who chopped his ponytail off earlier this year.

So far, Georgia has raised nearly £200 for the charity which needs funds to cover the cost of transforming the hair into wigs.
