A HIGH voltage fault left more than 600 homes in Millom without power this morning.

The incident was reported at 9.46am this morning, with 629 properties reported to be without power.

Staff from Electricity North West attended to deal with the problem, with power restored at 11.23am.

The company confirmed the power cut was a consequence of a high voltage fault on the network.

Much of the town was affected, including properties on Albert Street, Crown Street, Katharine Street, Queen Street, Lapstone Road, Lancashire Road, St George's Road, Wellington Street, Market Street, St George's Terrace, Cook Road, Wasdale Road, Surrey Street, Boundary Lane, Oxford Street, Richmond Street, Devonshire Road, Rottington Road, Lincoln Street, Millom Road, Lonsdale Road, Earl Street, King Street, Estuary Close, Newton Street, Nelson Street, Castle Street, Rottington Green, Rottington Cottages, Furness Street, Lord Street, Windsor Street, Bedford Street, Hope Street and Park Road.
