FOUR men have been jailed for a machete attack in Millom.
The attack took place at the rear of Newton street, where the quartet attacked the victim with machetes and glass bottles.
The 41-year-old managed to escape but was left with serious injuries including laceration marks to his left hand and was left understandably distressed.
Adam Pay, 28, of West County Court, was sentenced to 43 months in jail, Ryan Mason, 29, of Croft Close, was jailed for 43 months, Alan Johnston, 27, of Castle Street, was banged up for four years and Blake McPherson, 22, of Liverpool Lodge Holborn Hill, all Millom, was sentenced to 27 months behind bars.
Detective Constable Claire McTear said: "This was a vicious and violent attack that took place. The injuries the victim suffered could have been far worse and we are thankful that he has made a full recovery.
"This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated in Cumbria and the sentencing handed out underlines this."
