FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a calf which had fallen into a ravine near Broughton.
Crews from Barrow, Ulverston and Coniston were tasked at noon today after the bull calf fell into the ravine at a farm in Pannel Holme, Ulpha. Firefighters wearing body armour used height equipment, lines and strops to rescue the animal.
The three crews and two managers returned to stations after around three hours.
