COPELAND residents are being urged to claim their right to vote in the constituency's upcoming by-election.
The deadline for registering to vote is on Tuesday February 7 and it can be done by clicking here .
The parliamentary by-election will be held on February 23.
Pat Graham, Copeland's acting returning officer, said: "The right to vote is precious and we would encourage as many people as possible to register - it's important to get involved in the democratic process and have your voice heard.
"Many people won't know they're not registered, and some won't realise they need to do it by February 7 to take part in this particular election.
"It's very quick and easy to do by visiting the www.gov.uk website."
