TRIBUTES have been paid to a "wonderful and hard-working" youngster killed in a tragic crash on Friday night.

Caitlin Huddleston was a front-seat passenger when she was killed in an accident on the A595 on Friday night alongside Skye Mitchell.

The 18-year-old had studied business at Kendal College, finishing in 2016, and principal Graham Wilkinson paid tribute to the talented youngster.

He said: "All of us at Kendal College are extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the devastating accident that claimed Caitlin’s young life.

"All of our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends and we will be doing everything we can to support her fellow students and our staff through this difficult time.

"She was a wonderful, hard-working young woman who travelled from her home in The Green to Kendal most days.

"Tutors recognised her knowledge and potential and were confident that she would have achieved her dream to work in fashion had her future not been so cruelly taken away.

"Caitlin will be remembered by us as a really decent, honest, and kind person who definitely had a bright future ahead.

"When a student dies in such sudden circumstances, the effects across our close knit college community are widespread; from our students to our tutors who had spent precious time encouraging them to develop, learn and grow.

"We are hurting now and will need time to grieve over the coming days and weeks. It is a very sad time."
