THE reigning champion of Britain's Got Talent has announced that he is heading to the region.

Lee Ridley, better known as Lost Voice Guy, will be appearing at the Beggar's Theatre, in Milom, next spring.

The most in-demand comedian in the country right now, he has been performing all over the UK since his win on the ITV talent show in June, including a performance at Kendal Calling festival.

Known for his self-deprecating humour, he is the first stand-up comedian in Britain to use a communication aid in his routines. The Newcastle-based performer has cerebral palsy and is unable to speak. He has performed in some of the UK’s most popular comedy venues as well as in solo shows at festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe, the Brighton Fringe, Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Leicester Comedy Festival, Nottingham Comedy Festival and Liverpool Comedy Festival.

As well as winning Britain’s Got Talent this year - the first comedian to do so - Lee also won the BBC New Comedy Award in 2014.

Stand-up has been popular at the venue for a number of years, with some of the biggest names in British comedy visiting Millom, including Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard and Jon Richardson.

The rest of this year's comedy programme at the Beggar's also includes the likes of Phill Jupitus and Seann Walsh, before the visit of Lost Voice Guy next year.

Lost Voice Guy visits the Beggar's Theatre on Saturday April 13, 2019, and support comes from comedian Jonny Awsum. Tickets are on sale from noon tomorrow via the venue's box office.
