Man saved after driving into Windermere

A CAR was pulled from Windermere following an accident last night.

A man had to be rescued after accidentally driving his car in Windermere near the marina.

The Lake District Rescue Coastguard team sprung into action at 8.45pm after being alerted to the incident by Cumbria Police.

When the arrived they found the man had already been helped out of the vehicle by those at the scene.

The incident was resolved by 10.50pm.
