Man arrested after more than 30 cars vandalised in Barrow

POLICE in Barrow are appealing for information after more than 30 cars were vandalised.

Officers received a stream of reports from victims who woke to find their vehicles, parked in the vicinity of Devonshire Dock Road, were damaged after having their badges ripped off or damaged by graffiti.

Today police arrested a 21-year-old local man on suspicion of committing damage to motor vehicles. He has been interviewed and placed on police bail until April 5.

PC Howard Lindow, investigating, said: “We are still trying to trace a number of victims who have had their vehicles damaged, and we believe there could be more vehicles that have been damaged that we are not yet aware of.

“If your vehicle was damaged last night when it was parked in the vicinity of Devonshire Dock Road on Barrow Island and you haven’t yet contacted the police, please call me, PC Howard Lindow, on 101.

“We are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact me at Barrow police station on 101.”

Information can also be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
