SUNDAY’S events in Windermere will prove poignant for runners remembering the man who once captured their incredible achievements.

A team of 50 will run in memory of Martin Campbell, the beloved “camera dude” who spent nine years recording the marathon and 10in10 prior to his death last year. His wife, Cecilia, is organising the team which includes sons, Matt, Josh and Luke.

Monies raised in Mr Campbell’s name will fund a special youth project.

Brathay operations manager, Alyson Knowles, said: “Martin’s infectious enthusiasm, energy and empathy was shared with everyone he came into contact with. Many of ‘Team Camera Dude’ are past 10in10ers and will never forget the part he played in their challenge.

“The event this year will be emotional for many of us who remember the vital role he played. It’s a fitting way to remember Martin, we only wish he was here to film it.”
