A WINDERMERE man was caught in a public road with an imitation firearm that looked like a shotgun.
Mateusz Morawski appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Kendal yesterday where he pleaded guilty to having an imitation firearm in a public place.
The 20-year-old, of Bank Road, Windermere, admitted having a BB gun which had the appearance of a pump action shotgun while in Lake Road in Bowness on May 8 of this year.
Morawski was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge. Magistrates ordered the destruction of the weapon.
