A POLISH national admitted to drug-driving in Windermere while still on a suspended sentence.

Tomasz Kuznik, 24, appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court in Barrow on November 29, where with the help of an interpreter, he pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of cannabis and amphetamines.

The court heard how Kuznick, of Winster, was stopped by officers in Rayrigg Road on July 29, who immediately became aware he was under the influence due to his dilated pupils and delayed response in answering questions.

When tested, Kuznick was found to have had 5.6 microgrammes of cannabis per one litre of blood- the legal limit is two - and 266 microgrammes of amphetamines - the legal limit is 250.

Kuznick was already serving a suspended sentence issued by Carlisle Crown Court on December 12, 2016 after he was found in possession of drugs with intent to supply.

He was released on bail until January 5 where he will appear at Carlisle Crown Court.
