A COUPLE from South Cumbria won the 'ultimate marriage proposal' thanks to national florist Interflora.
After making it through to a shortlist of four couples, Sam from Windermere was over-the-moon when his ultimate proposal idea for his partner Jake was selected as the best in the UK.
The prize, arranged by Interflora, was to make his proposal come true.
Friends and family gathered on the shores of Windermere as Sam waited for his sweetheart's arrival by Lakes cruise boat.
Jake was completely oblivious to Sam's plans - having been told his trip on the boat was part of a staff training course.
And of course, Jake said "Yes"!
A study by Interflora revealed the most popular extravagant proposals as:
1. A “proposal cake” containing a ring
2. A flash mob proposal
3. A marriage proposal necklace
4. A choreographed proposal
5. A street art proposal
