A MAN accused of having an axe and behaving violently in the Lake District will stand trial later this year.
Phillip Wells, 27, pleaded not guilty to two charges when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (4) over video link from HMP Preston. Wells denied having an offensive weapon in a public place, at College Road in Windermere, on July 3. He also denies one charge of affray.
A trial, estimated to last one to two days, will take place during the week of October 2. Wells, of Egerton, Skelmersdale, was remanded in custody by Judge Peter Davies.
