TIM Farron came second in the Lib Dem Conference DJ contest last night.
The crushing defeat came at the climax of Lib Dem Disco, where hundreds of party activists and MPs dance the night away on the first night of conference.
Last night saw Farron, education spokesperson Layla Moran and deputy leader Jo Swinson attend the event.
The former party leader played an impressive and well-recieved set of indie dancefloor classics, including the Strokes, the Smiths and Duran Duran.
But he was followed by activist and former election candidate Daisy Benson, who dazzled the crowd with disco classics.
Benson narrowly won the popular vote and was crowned Queen of the Disco.
Speaking after his defeat, Farron, said: "It's very Lib Dem to be the best and still not win."
