A POPULAR Lake District hotel has undergone a quarter of a million pound transformation.

The Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa, has unveiled a collection of new suites following a £250,000 investment.

The project, which was completed by the stunning four-star hotel in November, saw four suites and six executive bedrooms undergo a luxury transformation.

Each of the rennovated suites enjoys breathtaking views of Windermere with large windows located in both the bedroom and living areas.

The spacious suites all feature king-size beds, fitted with a mico-fibre mattress and three-foot long pillows, ensuring each and every guest leaves feeling refreshed after a deep night’s sleep.

The interiors have been selected to exude a regal finish with golds and purples throughout. The furniture, including all cabinets and table, were sourced from prominent UK suppliers.

Guests staying in the suites receive a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival. Fresh flowers will be placed in the room each morning and guests can also make use of the in-room Nespresso coffee machine and Arran Aromatics toiletries.

In addition to the four suites, a further six of the executive bedrooms have benefitted from a refurbishment. Each of rooms have been fitted with new furnishings including stylish double beds, cabinets and bathrooms.

Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa is one of the Lake District’s most popular four-star hotels.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere, the 106-bedroom hotel enjoys spectaular views, breathtaking scenery and a tranquil setting. Its facilities include a spa, fitness suite, private jetty and two dining areas.

Chris Quinn-Waugh, general manager at Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa said; “While the hotel is already located in one of the most sought-after areas in the Lake District, the new suites have helped to elevate our positioning as a leading luxury getaway.

“In addition to stylish interiors, the rooms offer some of the most sensational sights in the area, allowing guests to gaze along panoramic views of the surrounding mountain peaks, from the comfort of their own room.”
