South Cumbria residents targeted by scammers claiming to be from Cumbria County Council
POLICE have issued a warning to residents in South Cumbria following a number of reports of scam calls claiming to be from Cumbria County Council.
Ulverston and Furness police's Twitter account posted the warning this afternoon. Police said the scammer had claimed to be calling from Cumbria County Council asking residents for bank card details.
Residents in the Coniston area are understood to have been targeted so far.
