A SOUTH Cumbria hotel which is said to have the "best view in Britain" has been put on the market.

JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality team have been instructed to sell the Langdale Chase Hotel at Windermere.

Originally built in 1895, the renowned Grade II listed country house hotel is set in six acres of attractive landscaped grounds. Located on the shores of Windermere, the hotel has been the proud winner of the title of ‘Best view in Britain’.

Thomas Noblett, Managing Director of Langdale Chase Hotel, said: "After over 23 years together at the Hotel, myself and my fellow directors have decided it is time to retire."

The hotel is a popular wedding and function venue and has 29 en-suite guest bedrooms throughout the estate in addition to a 24 bedroom staff accommodation block which was purpose built in April 2016. The site also includes a luxurious Lake House providing eight guest bedrooms, a unique Boat House and two private jetties.

There is also a 15 bedroom former staff house which could be converted to provide further guest accommodation, a spa or a separate function facility subject to obtaining the relevant planning consents.
