A THREE-STAR hotel in South Cumbria has been named as one of the best in the region by a global hotel search website.

Hotel search website trivago.co.uk has released the results of their annual trivago Awards, using over 175 million aggregated hotel reviews and semantic analysis to determine the best-rated hotels in regions across the UK.

This year the best hotels have been awarded across eight different categories: 3-star, 4-star, 5-star, B&Bs, Value for Money, Breakfast, Guest Service and Guest Rooms.

By analysing reviews aggregated from different sources across the web, trivago aims to award hotels on a basis which is accurate, comprehensive and impartial.

The Cedar Manor hotel at Windermere was found to be the best three star hotel in the North West, with no other winners in Cumbria.

Johannes Thomas, Managing Director at trivago, said: “We aggregate and analyse more than 175 million hotel reviews from websites all over the world.

"This gives us strong insights into what hotels are particularly good at. Our trivago awards recognise those hoteliers who deliver an exceptional experience to their guests, and we are proud and delighted to award those achievements.”
