A SOUTH Cumbria man has been sentenced to three years in prison after officers found more than £1,000 worth of drugs at his home address.

Mark Holden, 34, of Wesley Court, Ambleside, was sentenced today at Carlisle Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin at an earlier hearing.

The sentence follows a search by police at Holden’s home address on Wednesday August 24th of this year, when officers seized several bags of heroin and drugs paraphernalia.

The heroin seized was worth an estimated value of £1,300.

Sergeant Jamie Eaton said: “This should once again send a strong message to all those who may think that they will get away with supplying drugs in our county – it will not be tolerated and our officers will continue to work hard to ensure that these criminals are taken off our streets."
