A SKY Sports presenter and darts coverage anchor is taking on a walk of mammoth proportions to raise money to beat Parkinson's Disease.

Dave Clark, Ilkley, who has lived with Parkinson's for six years will walk 85 miles along the Dalesway and finish in Bowness.

His challenge will begin on Sunday September 9 from his hometown in Yorkshire and he aims to complete the walk in six days.

Mr Clark has lived with Parkinson’s for 6 years and has dedicated much of his time to fundraising for the disease, he is also an advocate for the importance of exercise in helping managing symptoms.

According to the NHS Parkinson's Disease affects around 127,000 people in the UK.

It is a condition that causes parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years due to a loss of nerve cells.

Parkinson's can cause involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body, slow movement and stiff, inflexible muscles.

There is currently no cure for the disease, however, there are treatments available which help reduce symptoms and maintain a quality of life.

Mr Clark will take on the walk to raise money for the charity Parkinson's UK.
