RECORDS were made on the final day of the 46th annual Power Boat Records week in Coniston.

The first record of Friday was Bob McCarty in the National Club Racing 2 Class.

Mr McCarty, from South Devon, has made many attempts during the week and his national record at the end of the week stands at 85.68 mph.

The other competitor to break a record on Friday was Tom Montgomery-Swan.

Mr Montgomery-Swan, like Mr McCarty, has been continuously tweaking the set-up during the week breaking his record many times. His record for the week in the National Club Racing Unlimited Class stands at 93.01mph.

This year's event has been another great success, with 35 entries making 180 record attempts and bringing more than 200 officials, drivers and crews to Coniston.

Next year's event will take place on Coniston Water from October 30 to November 3.
