POLICE have arrested a 20-year-old on suspicion of affray and grievous bodily harm after a man was allegedly struck with a hammer in a town centre.
The alleged assault happened on October 18 around 2pm near the YMCA in Kendal.
A 27-year-old man from Kendal was hospitalised after being chased from the lower area of Kirkbarrow to Kirkland, and sustained cuts to his head during the incident.
The 20-year-old remains in police custody and officers are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact police on 101 quoting reference 125.
