POLICE are appealing for information about a missing 55-year-old man who is believed to be in the Lake District.
Peter Iwantschak, of Chorley in Lancashire, was last seen yesterday afternoon.
He had travelled to the South Lakes area from his home to go walking and was in a silver Toyota Yaris, with the registration plate of SV55 WFE.
He is described as a white male, 5ft 9in, of medium build, with short dark hair with greying sides and glasses.
He is thought to be wearing a walking jacket and have a black rucksack.
Anyone with any information or who has seen Mr Iwantschak or the vehicle is asked to contact police on 101.
Police would also urge Mr Iwantschak to make contact with police or family if he sees this appeal.
