THE firm in charge of a hugely successful tourist attraction has made three new appointments.

Winander Group Holdings, the Bowness-based parent company of Windermere Lake Cruises, has named three new subsidiary company directors to help it plan for the future, and continue to drive the business forward. The new appointments are John Brockbank, who will be a non-executive director for Windermere Lake Cruises, Jennifer Cormack who will be a sales and marketing director for the same organisation, and Andrew Simon, who has become group finance director of Winander Leisure.

All three have a long association with the company, which also operated the Lakeland Motor Museum in Backbarrow.

Mr Brockbank's family are Winander shareholders. He ran his own business for more than 40 years and he is the son of boatbuilder Allan Brockbank.

Ms Cormack has worked for the company since 2014 and is also a director of Cumbria Tourism and chairman of the Lake District China Forum. She is also on the management committee of the Lake District Hotels Association.

Mr Simon has been a director of Windermere Lake Cruises for four years and has been with the group for almost two decades.

The chairman of Winander Group Holdings, Bill Bewley, said: "These new appointments are well deserved.

"They are part of our long term strategic plans to strengthen our boards, safeguard our commercial development, and ensure that we meet the competitive challenges of an ever changing world."
