A RESCUE operation involving a number of emergency services took place to help an injured walker in South Cumbria.
Coniston Mountain Rescue, the air ambulance and the coastguard rescue helicopter were all dispatched to help a walker who become injured after falling while walking an established route in Low Water, Coniston at around 10.20am on October 27.
Rob Ingham, of Coniston Mountain Rescue confirmed that 12 crew members attended the scene after being alerted by another walker.
He said: "A passerby heard someone shouting for help, so we went up.
"We know the ground very well and we asked the air ambulance and coastguard to assist us.
"When we get called, we just have to get people out as fast as we can."
The walker was taken to Preston hospital following the incident.
