A WINDERMERE vets is trying to reunite a lost cat with its owner after it was found in the axle of a coach.
Oak hill vets in Lake Road took temporary ownership of the cat after it was discovered on Monday afternoon.
It is thought the cat became trapped in the vehicle in Devon but was only discovered once the coach pulled into the Lake District four days later.
The bus went on a nationwide tour starting in Lands' End, London, Windsor and Birmingham before ending up in Cumbria.
A mechanic eventually set the creature free after the driver reported hearing unusual noises a driver heard coming from underneath the coach.
