A man has been arrested and bailed as police investigate an incident of assault in South Cumbria.
Cumbria police are investigating an incident of assault which occurred at around 8:45am in the lay-by on Milnthorpe Road on May 12.
A 40-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).
It was reported that the suspect had grabbed a female by the shoulders and pushed her to the ground.
This caused a cut to the head of the female which had to be glued shut at hospital.
The suspect has been released on bail at this time.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Those with information should contact PC 2325 Smith at Cumbria Police on 101.
